Anxiety test

Seven questions about the last two weeks. The GAD-7 scale was built for doctors and tested on tens of thousands of people in many countries.

Over the last 2 weeks, how often have you been bothered by the following?

Your answers stay in your browser: we do not store or send them anywhere.

  1. Feeling nervous, anxious or on edge
  2. Not being able to stop or control worrying
  3. Worrying too much about different things
  4. Trouble relaxing
  5. Being so restless that it is hard to sit still
  6. Becoming easily annoyed or irritable
  7. Feeling afraid, as if something awful might happen

How to read the result

  • 0-4Minimal anxiety. Your anxiety is at an everyday level. If something worries you, it is more a single situation than a constant background.
  • 5-9Mild anxiety. Anxiety is noticeable but not yet running your life. A good time to learn to lower it: routine, breathing, and looking at what exactly scares you.
  • 10-14Moderate anxiety. Anxiety already gets in the way of sleep, work or rest. With this result it is worth talking to a professional: it usually gets noticeably easier within a few sessions.
  • 15-21Severe anxiety. Anxiety is very strong. With this result please see a psychiatrist or a medical psychotherapist, especially if there is panic, a racing heart or insomnia.

About the test

This test helps you understand how you are doing, but it is not a diagnosis. Only a doctor or psychotherapist can diagnose after a conversation.

I do not work with depression, thoughts of death or self-harm. If your result is high, the test will tell you where to turn.
